Trinidad – work, work work

It only seems weeks ago we did this in le Marin. In fact it is 4 months and given what we found when we lifted Mr X, just as well we did. Things where not as good as expected, the anti foul did not do its job, neither did the man who took care of the prop.

Still it wasn’t all work, we went to a Jam session, went to the market, visited Port of Spain, and spent a day with humming birds.

We went back in the water on my birthday! Then we tried to leave Trinidad, twice!

Hurricane Maria delays our departure

Maria in full flow,  looks so beautiful, but so scary and deadly. We are again blessed, she is far from us. But she leaves a trail of destruction in the northern Caribbean islands, most of them  still reeling from the destruction wrought by Irma only 2 weeks ago. This is one of the worse hurricane season for years…

Busy week in Grenada, again!

Another exciting week, hurricanes Irma and Jose have kept us on our toes, it was quite worrying to see how these 2 developed and  we were pleased to be over 200 miles away from them. Some were not so lucky….  the devastation will certainly have an impact on our travels next season.

On the bright side, we had an evening on Santa Barbara, we went dancing at the full moon party,  river tubing, had our weekly hash and BBQ on the beach, life in Grenada is so sweet.

Excitement in Prickly

We say good bye in style to Francine & Al (Time after Time) with a BBQ on Calabash beach. So many people turned up it was brilliant. We definitely send them off in style!

Obviously, the main topic of conversation revolved around the unsuccessful thieving incident of the previous night. A bit scary, but no one was hurt, although every one was reminded of how vulnerable we can be on a boat, even in a very crowded bay.

Back to base in Prickly Bay

Finally back in Prickly bay after 2 weeks up town in St George. We do need to get back to do some work on Mr X and it is so much more convenient here, nearer to Budget Marine. Also, the community here is far tighter, most of the people we know are anchored there. It is like coming home. And the beach is not so far….

Work and play on Mr X

St George’s Bay

We are leaving the marina, after a week carousing around St George. It is too quiet now, no loud music until the early hours. Not going far, we’ll park for a few days in the bay and make the most of the town on our doorsteps… fresh fruits & veg every day and fish! Unexpected bonus, an impromptu steel pans bands parade had us dancing in the streets again!
