Sumbawa is another big island and our first stop is Wera, a small village full of surprises. The black beach at the front is frantic with boat building activities.  We can see many vessels of various sizes at different stages of construction. Unfortunately, very little English is spoken so difficult to get information about the process. The ladies are also very busy, it looks like every household has a loom and someone operating it. Fascinating to watch.

The next island, Flores is probably the better know and for good reasons. The Komodo dragons live near there, and the most scenic small islands litter the surrounding water. We have been warned that the currents, winds and the anchorages can be a bit limit, and for safety's sake, as well as to give us a bit of a freak we elect to do a tour of the main attractions. Beautiful and stunning does not do it justice!

Tual is the first port we can check in in Indonesia. The formalities take a couple of days, where we can't leave the boat. All the paperwork is finally taken care of and we are free to move. But first we need some fresh food, fortunately the market is on our doorstep  and  very  colourful it is too. We'll be there for nearly a week in the end.

We arrived in Indonesia at dawn with the rain, after a very eventful night. Loads of lights, fishermen - moving and fishing devices - static. Made for a stressful navigation and we were glad to see dawn. Unfortunately the rain made the world around us turn into a watery blur... very soon we cannot see more than a few metres in front of us, which is always scary, especially since we know there are so many things floating around us.

Our very last stop in Australia, Thursday Island is the place where we need to check out. The Immigration Office is probably the nicest building we have been to do do this kind of stuff. No time to explore the island, just had a quick walk into the town, the museum and the supermarket and we are gone. Next stop Indonesia, hopefully in a week or so if all goes to plan.

Another stop along the Queensland Coast, another blow is predicted so we stay in this secured bay. We do have Australians neighbours and we go to explore the beach on the other side of the peninsula. Stories of enormous fishes caught and ferocious crocodiles prowling the beach are told, making for entertaining evenings.
