The weekly hash is a bit of a main event in our social calendar. We enjoy the drive to wherever we start from, catching up with fellow sailor in the bus, discovering Grenada sceneries and villages. And then there is the hash itself, the social bit before and after the walk, and then there is the walk or rather the mud bath. They have been so far all different, on different terrain and with different walking partners. Today is Bastille Day hash, going to feel right at home.

Hashing, Full Moon Party and more work
Can’t believe how quick the weeks are going. Another Hash day is here already. Plenty muddy yet again but great fun! More fun at the Full Moon party, nice to see local bands playing live. Every one is getting ready for Carnival so Soca and Calypso most of the night. The rest of the week is work, work, work, sanding, varnishing floorboards, galley and outside table!
Settling in nicely in Prickly bay
We’ve been in Grenada for over 10 days already, at this rate, the 2 months hiding from hurricanes will be gone in a blink! We have met a few people, done a few jobs on Mr X, and even been on our first hash. That was great fun, it won’t be the last!

The rainy season is definitely upon us…
Waiting for the storm in Prickly Bay – Grenada
Prickly Bay
It actually looks this way for real, don’t think I have ever seen such atmospheric skies and sea.
We know the storm is coming, we are as prepared as can be, all we have to do is wait and wait and wait.
Carriacou – Grenada
Tyrell Bay
Another special place, turquoise water so clear you can see the bottom. The island is only small with only a few villages, not many roads, and very few people, especially now that the season is over. Planned to stay for at least 5 days, but the weather decides otherwise.
Look what is coming our way!
D
And there it is…It started as a tropical wave rapidly developing into tropical storm. We have 2 days to get out of its way so tomorrow we will be heading to the marina in Port Louis, Grenada. Not quite keen to be at anchor for this!
Union – the emerald island
Love Union. Can’t get enough of it. This definitely is one of the prettiest in the Caribbean. Chatham bay and Clifton are not to be missed, but I am glad that we had the chance to explore the hills.
Bequia
We stopped in Bequia in January for a day only and we felt that there was much more to explore in this lovely island. So we are back for a few days and intend to see every corner. The weather is not so great but leaden grey skies do make for very dramatic pictures. Bequia has a different feel from any of the other island and after all these talk of whaling, I really hope I will see a whale in these waters!
St Lucia & St Vincent
No time to stop in St Lucia, we are picking up the wind generator’s controller from a fellow sailor, installing it and then carrying on down south. We really want to be out of the hurricane belt soonish and the weather has steadily been getting worse. Same for St Vincent, a quick stop in Cumberland Bay for a night before we sail to Bequia where we are hopping to spend a few days exploring.
