The Brewery

Thursday 6th July

Steve wants to go to the Brewery just up the road so we meet up late afternoon for a pre-dinner drink. Will joins us and we trot along the road. The Brewery is not so busy in the late afternoon, but the setting is brilliant. Tanks glimmer in the darkness behind the bar; they must have 15 tanks bubbling away. It all looks a bit futuristic in such surrounding with all the dials and monitors flashing red number. The Brewery is a small company, only 3 years old , the only one of its kind in Grenada. The names of the beers on offer are evocative, Windward IPA, Black Rock, Mongoose Porter, Dockside ESB… they offer tasters which is not a bad thing considering the strength of most of their beer, at over 8% proof, an eye bath size is more than sufficient. The staff is pleasant and knowledgeable as well as obviously passionate about their products. All the glasses are kept in a huge freezer, not sure proper warm beer aficionados would agree. It is brilliant place, they do a nice cranberry juice, still can’t drink beer, guess I was only good at selling it not drinking it. Pleased we went there. You can take the girl out of the pub but not the pub out of the girl!

The boys were really good, they were ready to go after an hour or so, mind you I had to bribe them with dinner on board Mr X. Karen joined us and we had a very convivial evening, putting the world to rights.
