Evening on the Santa Barbara

Evening on the Santa Barbara

The last coat of varnish has been applied this morning. There is plenty more to do but for the tome being we are going to give it a rest, all the sole boards have been done,  and the floor is now protected which was the most important, Not sure I like the finish, to shinny for me, it shows up all the imperfections (plenty of those!).  Next time we’ll put a coat of satin. Whilst Ian is going shopping, I park myself in the Tikki bar for the afternoon for a bit of internet work. I have been checking on Patrick and Catherine (Santa Barbara) every two days, Patrick’s back is slowly mending, but he still can’t sleep without being propped up. It is nearly a week since his fall and he does look better every time we see him. We spent the evening with them swapping stories, Amazing what people do. They had never been on a boat until they bought Santa Barbara 10 years ago. We had a very nice French evening, and yes we had saucisson! We also got to see Patrick’s painting…very talented!
