Leaving Barbados

Wednesday 18th October
Another bouncy night and we have dragged again. The wind is very strong in the morning and we don’t feel comfortable leaving Mr X for the day. According to the forecast it won’t get better for a few days So we decide to go back up to speightown. We should be more sheltered up there and if not it won’t be worse than here. We have a nice sail up with the wind behind us. And yes we are more sheltered in here. We are not bouncing around that much but there is still rain and gusts of wind.
Thursday 19th October
We need to check out today. Don’t fancy taking the boat to port St Charles so we walk along the beach all the way. Beautiful water and white sand, not many tourists either. We do a bit of shopping on the way back and had lemonade in my favourite cafe. Ian needs a haircut and the barman suggests a place. An hour later Ian has been shorn and I have had an animated chat with a waiting punter. We rest for the rest of the afternoon; we have a long day ahead tomorrow crossing to Martinique.
