Thursday 17th November
Jolly Harbour
We dinghy in to try to catch up with Lynn and Peter on land. Christine is still out of the water and they are staying in the Jolly resort. Communication is a bit fuzzled, phone doesn’t seem to work and we can figure out if Lynn is picking up messages. So we spend a nice afternoon in the Crow’s nest catching up with emails and getting the website updated. At 6pm it becomes obvious that comms have failed. So off we trot to the resort where Lynn and Peter are staying on the off chance that we will find them. We are escorted into the all inclusive resort, we haven’t got the wristbands so we are not allowed to go any further than the lobby. Nice lobby though, enjoying people watching. Very posh place full of posh frocks nursing free posh drinks… not for us though, the bar is out of bound to non-guests. Lynn and Peter finally turn up and we are taken to Castaways, along the beach for a good natter and a nice meal. Brilliant evening catching up on news and discussing plans for next season.
Friday 18th November
Jolly Harbour
Ian has volunteered us to go and help Peter and Lynn to ready Christine. The sails need to be put back on and the boys are hard at it all morning. Us girls are in charge of the bimini, shopping and lunch. The supermarket in Jolly is well stocked and roughly at the same pricing level than Grenada. More blah blah blah. A thoroughly nice day.
Saturday 19th November
Jolly Harbour
Racing weekend, they all come out late morning, stunning sight, another morning gazing at racing boats. Lynn and Peter come out in the afternoon for a swim and dinner. More blah, blah, blah.
Monday 20th November
Jolly Harbour marina
The engine has been playing up for a few days, refusing to start up. We book an appointment with the engineer, he won’t come to the boat in the anchorage so we need to get into the marina. Thankfully it is still early in the season so there is plenty room. The engineer will be looking at the engine tomorrow. The day is spent having my hair cut on Christine, Lynn as per usual does a sterling job of my mop! And chatting to people on the pontoon. Ot os quite a sociable marina, guess because there are not many of us there. We meet Merril and Marise from Ambition, talked about Caffee Latte and New Vision, We also meet Tobias and Carmen on Imagine, with their scary story. Small world.
