Antigua -Hermitage Bay walk

Thursday 23rd November

Pearns Point walk

Need to stretch our legs, and there are plenty of tempting hills all around us. I fancy the tallest and it looks like ther e is a road going right to the top of it. Getting out of the marina complex takes us all around the villas. Some are really nice, others not so.

We reach Hermitage bay, and its posh villas are scattered all up the hill surrounded by flamboyant trees. It is the best looking resort we have seen so far. The beach is fantastic. We found our hill with its road to the top. It turns out that the road is an access road built for the selling of plots ready for house building. Only half of the plots have been sold so far. Those houses, still to be constructed, are going to have some stunning views, some with Montserrat, some with just sea and other looking back into the lagoon and Jolly Harbour. We picked our and fantasise about what we would build on it. We need to get back, we are going to the Jolly Harbour Yacht Club Thursday drinks and then having dinner on Christine tonight.  We met Paul (Lyra Magna) who did the ARC with us, and he introduced us to a few people. The yacht club is having a BBQ on the beach on Christmas day which might be fun. Although I fancy the “drinking fizz for charity party” in Nelson’s dockyard.
