Provisioning in Nargana

Friday 25th January 19
Nargana Village
After a week in green island, time to leave the starfishes alone and to pack up the hammock. We head to Nargana village only 5 miles away to stock up on fresh food. From the Suzie Too net we gather that the boat should have delivered some. Well they were wrong… We got there and went to the same shops we went last week and all of the 4 of them were a sorry sight. Not much to be had, such a contrast with last time were we could find good quality stuff. Apparently the boat is due tomorrow… And the phone doesn’t work, nor does the internet…no good… All we have is onions, a cabbage and that is it. Even Frederico can’t think of anything better than wait till tomorrow for a boat that may or may not turn up. He is still keen to give me a cat when he hears that we have not caught the mouse in the traps he helped us find. On the way back to the dinghy we meet the French couple from l’Aventuriere, when we told them that the shops we visited were bare, they take us to another one on the other side of the bridge. We would never have found it without them. Amazingly they have eggs by the dozen, potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, cabbage, watermelons, oranges, bananas and plantains…. Enough for us for a few days. Hopefully, we’ll get some home delivery by the boat boys at some point.
We leave Nargana early afternoon, we have found a nice little anchorage not too far which we can reach before the light fade.
