Ogopsibudup island

Sabudupored to ogopsibudup island
By midday we are ready to go, we are too near the mainland and the cloud seem to be hanging around there. We are only going north 3/4 of a mile through a labyrinth of reef… I did get a bit flustered when told to aim to a reef I could see with naked eyes, where a couple of fishermen were actually walking with water barely reaching their knees.
Still it was well worth it, we are alone in the anchorage and the sun is there too. It looks stunning. The wind has died down completely so even if this is only marked as a day stop, we should be ok for one night. We spent a bit of the afternoon repackaging the food boxes…. Could not find the couscous! Real drama… Guess I am fed up with having every bit of food in boxes….we still have not caught the rodent, although there has been no trace of it since we got the traps (not tempted by my long saved chocolate). But we can’t be sure so everything stays in boxes for now.
I do get to shore in the middle of the afternoon… And went right round the island. It is pristine white sand and coconut trees fringed by azure water (all the plastic rubbish has been pushed up the slope which is quite steep and out of view when you walk on the sand). It is absolutely beautiful at each corner. The sun is shining just long enough for me to go round and then disappeared. Birds and crickets start their serenade as dusk come. The sky at night is probably the best we have seen. Apart from the light of Nargana and the other town on the mainland, there is only the few anchor lights in green island. We have fun watching the fishes jumping in the dark catching whatever insects.
