Saturday 5th - Monday 7th January 19
Our first taste of the San Blas and it does feel very different, the island are real desert island stuff with white sand crystal clear water and palm trees everywhere. Some of these islands are inhabited, but usually only by a family, maybe 2. The local have dug out canoes, that they row or sail no matter how strong the wind or how high the waves… and they go for miles.
They come around selling fish, lobster and molas… can’t eat those, the ladies around here are very skilled with their needles, they make pictures out of colorful threads…. And they are fantastic… of course I am not allowed one…
Can’t really swim of the boat, we have been warned of crocodiles hanging around here. And our attempt at slinging the hammocks has not been very successful, we were eaten alive by insects.
So we cleaned the boat… hull is now beautiful.
