Moorea pineapple walk

We are up early, lunch in the bag, we set off across pineapple groves and vanilla plantations. It is a lovely walk, climbing up small hills covered in row of pineapples. They are still small at this time of year and many are sprouting tiny little mauve flowers. Lunch is taken overlooking both the bays, absolutely stunning views. It is only middle of the day plenty of daylight bleft so we carry on up to the ridge. The views and the sky disappear under a canopy of trees, welcome shelter in the heat. We soon reach the top with beautiful views of the other side of the island. With Tahiti in the distance. The path is leading us further and further from the village. We are actually wondering if we will make it back down before sunset. It is a bit of a scramble going down, quite hard work but we do arrive before dark, only just.
