Huahine – Fare Haamene Bay

Huahine

8 August 19 - 17 August 19

It is only an overnight sail to Huahine. The passe is spectacular. The wind and waves are mad; love the way the surf seems to part to let you in. The anchorage by the village is again packed so we go a little way out on the reef side. Quite tricky but we find suitable place with plenty room. Well until a boat decide to anchor near us. Suffice to say that its owner an Ian did not get much sleep. The village is nice and tidy, very small but people are lovely and the shop is amazing. We visited the little museum at the Lapita hotel, and heard about the Saturday night traditional dancing. That's our tomorrow night entertainment sorted. Weather is not playing so we don't have this walk on shore. Shame. Still, the dancing and singing at the Lapita was good. Ian would argue that the best part of the evening was having dinner with the locals at the roulottes on the town square. But then he would!
