Cartagena Fort

Cartagena fort
We meet up with Jacqui and David to go and have a look at the fort towering over the old town. It is on the highest hill, so the views are spectacular from there and not far from the anchorage to walk.
There are a few people about but it is not overly crowded. The usual assortment of towers, guns , parade grounds, and any other thing associated with this kind of construction, but I must say the underground tunnels were spectacular. Of course the boys insisted on walking every inch of all of them, even the one that were not open to the public, with water slapping around their ankles. The little film shown in the old hospital was very well made and instructive. We ended up back toward the old town where we had a nice dinner at a tapas place.
Friday 28th December 18 – Sunday 30th December 18
We spent a lot of time just perambulating in the old town, soaking up the atmosphere and getting out of the obvious touristy places. Fabulous , loved the town and every thing in it.
We did one of these free tour which was enlighting, although we should really have done this on the first day we arrived rather than near the end. We also met with ken from lady rebel and had a meal with him and the jacksters in getsemani.
