Passage Guadeloupe to Bonaire

Passage guadeloupe to Bonaire
Friday 16th nov to Tuesday 20th nov 18
We waited to see the first British skipper arrive in Pointe a Pitre from the Route du Rhum, the Hugo Boss mono hull [first mono hull to arrive]. He was a bit late on account that he hit some rocks at the top of the island. He finally turned up at 8am and we watched him limp in… what a shame.
On our way out we saw the pink trimaran and its retinue of motor boats, that was brilliant to watch.
The wind is quite strong this morning, a steady 20 to 25 knots with gusts up to 35, but it is comfortable and we keep missing the rain clouds, so I am happy watching les Saintes disappear in and out of the rain. As per usual, we soon settle in our watches pattern, 4 hours on, 4 hours off. The wind slowly dials down and it is a bit less wavy, which is nice. I managed to catch the French radio for most of my night shift, listening to the later arrivals of the Route du Rhum. We play tag with the rain clouds all day and night.
Not much happened during the passage apart from getting some birds hitching a lift on our bimini. They settled for the last 3 days on the solar panels, much to the disgust of Ian, who had to clear the poo later.
