Les Saintes – Grand Bourg

Sunday 5th November

Les Saintes

Waiting for the squall to clear before we set of to les Santes. A bit worried of what we are going to find there, there were news that it had been hit badly by Maria and we don’t really know the extent of  the damage. Hopefully it won’t be much. Looking forward to have an ice cream in Grand Bourg, the best ice cream in the Caribbean’s.  We are glad to see that all of Grand Bourg is untouched, the ice cream parlour is still standing and they still have the best ice cream. Not all of it has gone through Maria unscathed, the path to our old anchorage is not so good and the pretty pink restaurant has been flattened.  Worse of all, 2 boats are still on their side on the beach, heartbreaking sight for us.  Our favourite goat, the one with the eyebrows, recognised us, I swear! Came right up to us to greet us or was it to reach for his favourite flower snack?

Watching the sunset from the pontoon with a glass of wine…what more can you ask for?
