Another hash – Sauteur

Saturday 22nd July

Taking it easy this morning, Getting ready for the hash this afternoon, we are going to the top of the island at Sauteur (jumpers). Another place where the Amerindians where compelled to jump off cliffs rather than being subjugated to the rules of the white man, after years of fighting. Every island has this same story. Yolene & Jean are joining us for the ash, rather given their previous form; they will disappear with the fast walkers, possibly the runners. Still they enjoyed the virgin ceremony!

Another deep bush trail, very enjoyable. We take it easy, far too bus taking pictures to go fast but we are keeping up with Will and Karen (Chantey). Love the social, before and after the walk, we are starting recognising and meeting the same people, so we really feeling like we are part of the community. The French contingent is always very entertaining! Ian likes the food,I am sure he only goes so he can have chicken. Must say, the BBQ chicken is extremely good everywhere we go. Plenty of yatchies around too and even the bus ride with Shademan is fun. Especially the rum stop on the way home even if this is not always to everyone taste.
