Secret Beach BBQ

BBQ on the secret beach

We did not go to the hash this Saturday, we went to the children’s carnival, but Yolene and Jean informed us that they had volunteered us to 2 social events they had arranged at the hash. A BBQ was being organised by PJ and Cathie at a secret beach location on Monday bank holiday and a hike back to concord fall on Wednesday. Love it when Yolene is doing the social secretary bit. So off we went on Monday, Cathie came to pick us up at the marina and within 10 mn we were on a small secluded beach, with only a few locals. Absolutely gorgeous beach hemmed in by cliffs and reef at both end. The water is crystal clear and warm. We are joined by the French contingent, many like both the Bruno and Iris we have met at the hash. The hammocks are set up so is the BBQ and table!

We spend most of the morning in the water just idling chatting away about life in Grenada and other important tnings. Great gathering, a lot of fun and banter around the table at lunch. We had a go at snorkelling around the reef, not many coral but enough fishes to keep us interested.  The funniest is when we get back to the beach when all the kids swarm around us…”please miss, can we lend the mask?”, we were literally dispossessed of our mask and tuba by these small children wanting to have a go. Ian was told very seriously by the 6 years old who had his set that she had not finished with it when he wanted it back!

Younger Bruno had brought his paddle board, so we had a go at this too, not easy to manoeuvre but great fun. The hammocks were a good idea, every one of them was made good use of for the post meal siesta! It was just a great day out, so blessed!
