Last day in St George’s bay

Friday 25th Aug

Beautiful day in St George’s bay. We went into town, the market is in full swing, so we get a few fruits and vegs, and pick up my dress. The dressmaker has been very busy. The place is littered with gingham bloomers and dresses, in pink, blue, yellow, so cute. School is starting next week and these bloomers are part of the uniform. Despite the evident rush, she has managed to get 2 dresses out of the material and they are just so colourful. And they fit… only need the mirrors to find. She directs us to yet another place where we might find them. I thought that we had visited all the shops, but we find a treasure trove of buttons, feathers and glittering things, and they do have little mirrors that can be sewn on. Disappointment is waiting for us at the fish market, no tuna to be had. Shame it was so nice.

Back to the boat early afternoon, there is no wind so we decide to stay for another night. We’ll go back to Prickly Bay tomorrow. Just as well really, we are treated to a fabulous sunset with Vela looking striking and Shadowfax coming back to port at dusk.
